Damaged Lead-In Cable Paddington

Customer has had bad crackles on the line 12 months then about 2 months Ago the phone died completely. We came out today to find and fix the problem. The lead in cable passes through the front of the house and goes directly to a central filter under the stair cavity. I spit the lead in at the outside to test for dial tone as earlier we couldn’t find the other end of the cable. I did have a dial tone briefly going back to exchange but it was cracking and then died. The other side of the lead in from front to central filter has open circuit and low insulation resistance.

As this is a network cable this is the responsibility of the customers provider who is telstra in this case. Telstra please send out tech to make repair.See video for more details
