Engaged Tone Instead of Dial Tone – Newtown

Field Job Description

Customer has had no dial tone or internet just an engaged signal on the line. I went to the MDF tested with lines test set on b side going back to the socket and all was testing within spec. I ran a new jumper wire just to take that out of the equation also. I checked the line on the A side and the engaged signal was on the lead in cable. This is 100 % a network issue.

Conclusion

Update: Happy to report that the following day after receiving our report Optus had a technician sent out to this Newtown locations and made some repairs with equipment inside the exchange. This customer was happy to be watching Netflix again.
