NBN Modem Installed in inaccessible location

Field Job Description

Customer has just moved into a house in Croobyar and had NBN installed. On the day of the installation the Telstra contractor for NBN told the customer that the only place that he could install the modem was in a location that is in a totally inconvenient place which was in the kitchen on top of a cupboard that is 2.5 meters above floor level. (See video) The customer could not find a working phone number in the house as it was part of their package, the contractor never explained to the customer that they needed to plug their phone into the modem to get a dial tone. The customer has a bad lower back and it is unsafe for him to be climbing a ladder each time they need to answer the phone.

Conclusion

I have explained to the customer that they had to plug the phone into the modem and I ran a lead down to the kitchen bench and installed the phone. This is still not an a acceptable location for this Installation on the other side of this wall is the customer office, it would have been so easy for this tech to install this on that wall and then this customer would have been happy.I have told the customer this tech should sent back to relocate this socket and modem to a location that is usable.
