This client is in the process of getting an extension on the Bronte home. At some point a week ago the phones and internet went dead. They had Telstra come out to investigate and the Telstra technician found that all was working fine on the network side and advised this customer to find a private ACMA technician to make repairs.

This place is under renovation at the moment, I went up on the roof where the builders are working and found 2 lots of cut internal phone cables on the deck. I asked the builder if they cut them but they all said they knew nothing about it. All the sockets in the house of which I found 2 only had one single internal yellow cable going to them, that means somewhere in this house there is a junction point where the

Telstra network cable and the internal cables meet. The owner took me around the house to look for other sockets and the end of the lead in cable but we couldn’t find it anywhere. I have advised the client that we should not worry about trying to fix the existing damaged lines as the builders are sheeting the floors tomorrow which will stop access to the damaged cables. We will install new cables and sockets to get them working again. The cladding will not be going on for another 7 days so that will give us access to the network cable for another week to install new sockets. We will put a Telstra box on the side of the house a reroute the lead-in cable to this point so Telstra and NBN can have access to this cable.
