Slow Internet Speed on A Side of MDF – Camperdown

Customer had ongoing problems with their adsl speeds ever since being connected in Feb 2017. They have had 4 Telstra techs out and each time the tech fixed something out on the street and the speeds would jump up again, but would only last for about a week. The customer was told they would have 15 Mbps but as you can see from the test results they are only getting about 4-5 Mbps. The best they have had was 12 Mbps but that only lasted for 7 days. This time after the Telstra tech came out he said that this was not and network issue but a internal wiring fault.

I took the customer modem down to the MDF in the car-park and disconnected the internal cable and connected the modem directly to the A side of the MDF and ran a speed test. As you can see from the video the test was only 4.01 Mbps on the lead in cable. This is 100% a network issue that is effecting the speed of their connection.Note. The internal cable test was showing insulation resistance was just outside of spec, but this is not effecting the adsl speeds. Telstra will need to send out a tech to boost speed.
