Can I connect directly to the NBN box?

I’ve recently had the NBN installed at my home, and I noticed there’s an NBN box mounted on the wall. I’m wondering, is it possible for me to plug my devices straight into this NBN box, or do I need to use a separate router? I want to make sure I’m setting everything up correctly and getting the best internet experience. Can you advise?
