Where can you buy an NBN connection box?

Hi, I’ve recently moved to a new home and noticed there’s no NBN connection box installed. Can you explain what this box is, who provides it, and how I can get one? Also, are there any costs involved in getting this box, especially if my installation might be a bit unique?

The NBN connection box, also known as an NBN Network Termination Device (NTD), is a crucial piece of equipment that facilitates your connection to the NBN network. It’s essentially a modem that sends and receives data, connecting to a router that then distributes the internet connection throughout your home.

 

The responsibility for this piece of equipment lies with NBN Co, and it marks the point where their network liability ends. If you face any issues, your first point of contact should be your NBN provider. Importantly, an NBN connection box should be provided to you free of charge during a standard installation.

 

Any fees related to the NBN connection box would typically be associated with non-standard installations, and you would be informed of these during the installation process.
