Question

Hi SECURE A COM team, I’ve recently got my NBN connection box, and I’m a bit unsure about the setup process. Can you provide me with a clear step-by-step guide on how to connect my NBN to my Wi-Fi router? I want to make sure I do it correctly without any hiccups. Thanks in advance!

Answer

How to connect NBN to a router? The process of connecting the NBN to a router involves setting up the NBN connection box and then connecting it to your Wi-Fi gateway (router). Here’s a step-by-step guide:

Initial Setup:

    • Ensure you have an NBN connection box and a Wi-Fi gateway (router).
    • Unplug all devices from all phone sockets in your home and remove any ADSL/central filters.
    • Check the indicator light panel on the top of the NBN connection box. If it’s covered, slide the cover open

Connection:

      • Plug the NBN connection box into a power point but keep the power off.
      • Connect the NBN connection box to a telephone socket using the NBN telephone cable.
      • Turn on the power to the NBN connection box and wait. The DSL, Connection, and Power Lights should be solid blue when ready.
      • Connect and power the Wi-Fi gateway (router) supplied by your phone and internet provider. Use an Ethernet cable to connect the NBN connection box to your Wi-Fi gateway (router). The port on the Wi-Fi gateway (router) should be labelled ‘WAN’, ‘NBN’, or ‘internet’.
      • Connect your other devices to the Wi-Fi gateway (router).
