Is NBN fibre optic?

Question

Hello SECURE A COM, I’ve been hearing a lot about the NBN and its use of fibre optic technology. Can you confirm if the NBN actually uses fibre optics? And if so, how does it work, especially for homes? Do I need any special installation for it

Here Is your answer to Is NBN fibre optic

Answer

Yes, the NBN (National Broadband Network) does utilise fibre optic technology in some of its connection types. One such connection is the NBN Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) connection. In an FTTP connection, a fibre optic line is run directly from the nearest available fibre node to the premises. This type of connection requires an NBN network device to be installed inside the home, and this device requires power to operate. The installation can only be done by an approved NBN installer or phone and internet provider
