How the estimate is worked out.
The same three things we price a written quote on. What the estimate can't see is inside your walls, which is why it's a range.
Time on site
From the building, the way in and how many points. A short job is billed by the hour. Anything longer is booked as a half day or a full day, as our terms set out.
Materials
Cable by the metre, a socket and termination for every point, conduit where cable can't be hidden, and any network gear you want from us.
Travel
Included to 40 km from our Sutherland Shire office. Further out, the travel charge in our terms is added for each day on site.

Is this a quote?
No. It's an estimate, and under our terms (clause 4.3) a figure given before a job is booked isn't binding. Send it through and we'll quote in writing. Quotes are valid for 14 days.
How close will it be?
It uses the same rates we quote with: the labour and travel in our terms, our supply price for cable, sockets and conduit, and the time a job like yours usually takes. It can't see inside your walls, so it gives a range.
Why half days and full days?
Cabling jobs are booked as a half day (up to 4 hours) or a full day (up to 8), with breaks inside that time, so the day is set aside for your job. A few points can be done on the hourly rate instead.
How can I keep the price down?
Points close to the router, a roof space we can get into, and cable already in the walls that tests good all bring it down. On a granny flat, digging the trench yourself saves the most.
