SUPPORT ACROSS NSW
Your Local Expert, At Your Door —
Plain English, Across New South Wales.
On-site home IT and tech support across New South Wales — computer repair, virus removal, AI training for seniors, parental controls, and device setup, all resolved at your home. From slow Windows laptops in Western Sydney and Wollongong to persistent WiFi dropouts in Newcastle and the Blue Mountains, we diagnose and fix in a single visit. Trusted by NSW households since 2008, with 90% of home tech jobs resolved first time, no return visit needed.
WHEN TECH GETS FRUSTRATING —
WE MAKE IT SIMPLE AGAIN
Across New South Wales — from suburban Sydney to Wollongong, Newcastle, and beyond — home tech problems are the same everywhere. Here are the six issues we fix most often in NSW homes, explained in plain English.
My Computer Is Painfully Slow or Keeps Freezing
One of the most common calls we get across NSW — older Windows laptops struggling with software bloat, outdated drivers, and background processes that never get cleared. A startup tuneup, removal of unnecessary programs, and a security scan typically halve boot times in a single visit, regardless of whether you're in Sydney, Wollongong, or Newcastle.
SLOW COMPUTER TUNEUPI Think I've Got a Virus, or My Account Has Been Hacked
Unexpected pop-ups, a browser redirecting to strange sites, emails going out without you sending them, or a bank warning about suspicious login activity — these are red flags. We run a full malware scan, remove every threat found, secure accounts with new passwords, enable two-factor authentication, and set up ongoing protection in one visit.
MALWARE & ACCOUNT SECURITYI Need Patient Help — Not a Confusing Phone Call
Many of our NSW visits involve senior residents who want real, face-to-face help — not a call centre script or a remote session. We come to your home anywhere in New South Wales, sit with you, and work at whatever pace feels comfortable. No jargon, no rushing, no condescension. We're particularly experienced supporting seniors who need unhurried, plain-English guidance.
SENIOR-FRIENDLY SUPPORTNew Device — Phone, Tablet, or Printer Won't Work
Whether it's transferring photos and contacts to a new phone, connecting a printer to WiFi, pairing a Bluetooth speaker, or setting up an iPad with your email and apps — we handle all of it on-site anywhere in NSW. You tell us what you want, we set it up, then show you how to use it before we leave. No jargon, no rushing, no leaving until you're confident.
DEVICE SETUP & TRANSFERI Want to Use AI — But I Don't Know Where to Start
Voice AI assistants — Siri, Google Assistant, ChatGPT — are genuinely life-changing for seniors and home users across NSW. Dictating messages instead of typing, asking questions out loud, getting help writing a letter. We set it up on whatever device you already own, configure it for ease of use, and run a hands-on session at your pace until you feel confident using it on your own.
AI SETUP & COACHINGWiFi Keeps Dropping or Internet Is Unreliable
Intermittent dropouts, dead zones in rooms far from the router, and slow speeds on older WiFi equipment are widespread across NSW homes — especially in larger properties on the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, and regional areas. We perform a full WiFi and network diagnostic, identify the root cause, and in most cases resolve the issue in one visit. If the fault is in your NBN cabling, we handle that too.

Here's exactly what happens when you book a home tech visit with SECURE A COM anywhere in New South Wales. We travel to you, diagnose systematically, and in the vast majority of cases fix the problem on the same visit.
Call or Book Online — Describe Your Problem in Plain English
Just describe what's happening: "my computer is slow", "the printer won't connect", "I need my phone set up", "I think I've been hacked". No technical knowledge required. We'll ask the right questions and determine the best approach before we arrive. SECURE A COM has been providing on-site home IT support across NSW since 2008 — we know what matters and we're straightforward about what to expect.
We Confirm Your Appointment and Travel Details
We confirm a specific arrival window — not a vague half-day block. For Greater Sydney locations, there's no travel surcharge and bookings are typically within one to two business days. For locations outside Greater Sydney — Wollongong, Newcastle, Central Coast, Blue Mountains, and regional NSW — we confirm travel time and any applicable travel charge at this stage, before you commit. We call ahead on the morning of your visit.
We Arrive and Diagnose On-Site — Systematically
Your technician arrives and runs a thorough check — device performance, software, network connectivity, security status, and peripheral connections. We test everything before drawing a conclusion. You'll know exactly what's wrong before we touch anything, and the full diagnostic is included in your service call — there's no separate assessment fee. No guesswork, no assumptions, no rushing to a conclusion before we have the full picture.
We Fix It — Right There at Your NSW Home
Nine out of ten home IT jobs we attend across NSW are resolved on the first visit. Virus removal, WiFi setup, printer pairing, AI assistant configuration, parental controls install — we carry the tools and software to handle most problems without needing to return. If something genuinely needs more time or parts, we'll tell you honestly before continuing and agree the additional cost with you. No surprises.
We Show You How It Works — At Your Pace
Before we leave, we walk through exactly what was done and why — in plain English you can follow. If you'd like a hands-on session using a new app, an AI assistant, or anything we've just set up, that's included. We never watch the clock during this part. Many of our NSW clients tell us the walkthrough is the most valuable part of the visit, particularly seniors who need time to feel genuinely confident before we go.

Q&A
Common questions from NSW residents before booking a home tech visit. If yours isn't answered below, call us — we're happy to talk through your situation before you commit to anything.
answered below
Our base is in Sutherland Shire (Miranda), which means Greater Sydney is covered within the standard $250 service call with no travel surcharge. This includes all inner, eastern, northern, western, and south-western Sydney suburbs.
Beyond Greater Sydney, we travel throughout NSW — including Wollongong, Newcastle, Central Coast, Blue Mountains, and regional areas — with a travel charge that varies by distance. We'll always confirm the full cost before committing to travel. If you're outside the city, call us first and we'll give you an honest travel quote with no obligation.
Honest answer: there aren't many independent, experienced home IT technicians outside the major metro areas — and most people outside Sydney who contact us have already tried their options locally. We make the trip because we genuinely help in situations where residents are struggling to find anyone qualified and trustworthy.
We've been doing this since 2008 — 18+ years building and troubleshooting home technology. If the issue is genuinely complex (a failing desktop, a home network that no one else has been able to fix, or a senior resident who needs patient, plain-English support), the travel is worth it for both of us. We're upfront about travel charges and we only commit to the trip if it makes sense for your situation.
Yes — and this is a core part of our NSW home tech visits. Across our years of work throughout Sydney and regional NSW, a large proportion of our clients are older residents or their adult children booking a visit on their behalf. We're patient, we speak plain English, and we understand that the goal is genuine confidence with technology — not just getting the device to work temporarily.
Common things we help NSW seniors with: Setting up an AI assistant so they can ask questions by voice, video calling family members, email and photo management, transferring to a new iPhone or iPad, recovering compromised accounts, understanding privacy settings, and organising everything so it's actually usable day-to-day. The plain-English walkthrough is included in every visit — there's no rushing through it.
In most cases, yes. The majority of chronically slow computers — especially Windows laptops bought in the last eight years — are suffering from software and configuration problems rather than hardware failure. Startup bloat, background processes, outdated drivers, accumulated junk files, and misconfigured Windows settings are the typical culprits. These are all diagnosable and fixable in a single visit.
If after our diagnostic we find the machine is genuinely beyond economic repair — usually an older laptop with a failing drive or hardware too limited to be upgraded cost-effectively — we'll tell you honestly, explain what to look for in a replacement, and help you transfer your files and settings to whatever you buy next. We won't continue charging you to work on something that isn't worth saving.
Yes — WiFi troubleshooting is included in our standard home tech visit. We run a network diagnostic that includes signal strength mapping room by room, router configuration review, and connectivity testing across all connected devices. Dead zones in larger NSW homes, intermittent dropouts, and slow speeds in bedrooms remote from the router are the most common issues we encounter — and most are resolved in the same visit.
For homes that need a full coverage upgrade, we install and configure mesh WiFi systems — multiple access points distributed through the home — and set them up correctly for your router and ISP configuration. If the problem is actually an NBN line fault rather than a WiFi issue, we also offer a separate internet technician service for line-level diagnosis and repair. Not sure which applies? Call and describe what's happening — we'll tell you.
Call us immediately on 02 9188 1577 and describe what you're seeing. If you believe financial accounts or email are actively compromised, also contact your bank directly. Don't wait — the longer a compromised device is connected, the more damage can occur. We'll triage your situation over the phone and prioritise your booking where there's active risk.
On arrival, we run a comprehensive malware scan, identify any keyloggers, remote access tools, or malicious software installed on the device, remove everything found, change all affected passwords, enable two-factor authentication on critical accounts, and set up ongoing protection. We also check for accounts you may not have noticed were affected. Security visits are treated as a priority category regardless of your location in NSW.
Yes — new device setup is one of our most popular services across NSW. When you buy a new computer, laptop, phone, or smart TV, the "out of the box" setup often leaves a lot of important configuration undone: accounts aren't properly linked, the printer isn't connected, files from the old device haven't transferred, and the device isn't optimised for the way you actually use it.
We set up new devices properly from the start — transferring your data from the old device, configuring your email and cloud accounts, connecting it to your home network, setting up your printer and any other peripherals, installing the apps you use, and walking you through everything before we leave. For smart TVs, we install streaming apps, configure picture and sound settings, and connect them to your WiFi and existing streaming subscriptions.
Not much — just have the devices you want us to look at powered on and accessible. If the issue involves an account (email, banking, Apple ID, Google account), it helps to have the login details ready — though if you don't have them, recovering access is something we can do during the visit. If your problem involves WiFi or internet, leave your router plugged in and accessible so we can check the settings.
A brief written list of what you'd like us to help with is genuinely useful — people often remember additional items once the technician is there, and having a list means we can prioritise what matters most. If there's something specific you want fixed first (a security concern, a device you rely on for work), mention it at the start of the visit and we'll tackle that before anything else. For NSW clients outside Greater Sydney, also make sure you've confirmed the agreed total cost with us before the visit day.
